Is this an official Australian Government website?
No. Citizenshiptestpractice.com.au is an independent practice resource. It is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the Australian Government or the Department of Home Affairs.
What is the Australian Citizenship Test?
It's a test administered by the Department of Home Affairs as part of the citizenship application process, covering Australia's history, government, and values. It's 20 multiple-choice questions with a 45-minute time limit.
How many questions are on the real test?
The official test has 20 questions. You need at least 75% correct overall (15 out of 20), and separately, you must answer all 5 Australian Values questions correctly. Missing even one of those 5 means you don't pass, regardless of your overall score.
How does the practice test work?
Choose a topic or mix all four categories together, answer questions one at a time, and see the correct answer with an explanation immediately after each one. There's no timer and no pass/fail in practice mode. It's purely for learning.
How is the mock test different from practice?
The mock test mirrors the real thing: exactly 20 questions (5 of them always Australian Values), a 45-minute countdown timer, and no feedback shown until you finish. You get your full results, including the pass/fail outcome, only at the end.
Are the questions updated?
Yes. Our question bank is based on the current official study material and is reviewed and expanded regularly.
Can I practise for free?
Yes. You can start practising and take mock tests without paying anything. Free accounts have some daily limits on practice volume; a one-time $9.99 upgrade removes those limits and unlocks the full question bank.
What does the $9.99 plan include?
Full access to the entire question bank, unlimited practice and mock tests, detailed explanations, your full mistake bank and bookmarks, and your readiness score. It's a one-time payment, not a subscription.
Is the $9.99 a subscription?
No, it's a single one-time payment for lifetime access to Full Access features. See our Pricing page for details.
How does payment work?
Payment is handled securely through Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Once payment is confirmed, Full Access is activated on your account automatically.
Can I get a refund?

Can I access the website on my phone?
Yes. The whole site, including the practice and mock test interface, is designed to work cleanly on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Do I need to create an account to practise?
No, you can try practice questions and a mock test as a visitor. Creating a free account lets you save your progress, track your readiness score, and build a mistake bank across sessions.
How do I reset my password?
On the login page, select "Forgot Password?" and follow the emailed link to set a new one.
What happens to my results if I don't pass a mock test?
Nothing negative, mock test results are private to your account and are simply a practice tool. Your results page will show you exactly which topics to focus on before trying again.
